William R. Neagus is the Founder and Principal of Strategic Persuasion Group, LLC, in Farmington, CT. He has more than 30 years experience in communications. His specialties include crisis communications, issues management, public affairs and regional public relations. After spending more than a decade as a print journalist covering Connecticut government and politics, Bill became the media relations manager for the largest statewide business organization in the country, the Connecticut Business & Industry Association (CBIA). He then served as a Managing Director of the largest public relations agency in Connecticut for 10 years before founding SPG in 2007. A recurrent focus for Bill has been public relations related to major real estate development proposals, particularly those that face classic Not-In-My-Backyard (NIMBY) opposition. Bill has a Bachelor of Arts degree in English from the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth and a Master of Public Affairs degree from the University of Connecticut. He is Vice President of the Farmington Chamber of Commerce and chair of its Government Affairs Committee. He is also a member of the Central Connecticut Chambers of Commerce Board of Directors and a member of its Legislative Affairs Committee. He was named the Farmington Chamber’s Member of the Year in 2010. Bill is also an adjunct professor of public relations at Quinnipiac University in Hamden, CT. . |
